SEASON WRAP
The 4ths this year, was a challenge for a number of players,
with over half the side having played in Division 4 the season
before, a couple of new players and a couple that had played
in the 4ths last season. However the players stepped up to
the challenge and we were competitive in the majority of
games we played.
While the results on the scoreboard might not show it, we
managed to take it right up to a number of sides and push
them all the way to the end. However we just couldn’t put it
all together for the entire game, to get that elusive first win
for the season. At the end of many games we would always
comment that it was 1 innings that ended up costing us the
game. There were a couple of games where we were totally
outclassed right from the start, which showed us we have
some work to do to get to the level and depth of some other
clubs.
As a team very early on we decided that we would give ev-
eryone a fair go, regardless of the position we were in during
games. This is what we did and regardless of the result we all
went out and had fun. Even though we didn’t manage to win
a game during the season we all had a fun and enjoyable
season.
Our award winners for the season were as follows:
Batting and MVP Award – Gary Cotchin – batting .00 and per-
forming admirably with his pitching throughout the season.
Most Catches – A new award we created this season to rec-
ognise the stellar performance of our centre fielder, Pat Fox,
for taking 33 catches at centre field during the season.
Coaches award (best Team mate) – Bruce Healy
Finally I would like to thank Nicole for taking on the role of
our scorer, we started the season without one and by week
3 I had managed to convince Nicole to take this on. As we
all know without a scorer we cannot get out there and play
each week, so from all member of the team we would like to
thank Nicole for taking on this role.
