WELCOME TO LADBROKES FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS AT SOUTHSIDE CRANBOURNE. It is great to have you with us for what promises to be an enjoyable night of racing. The eight-race card includes the second heat of Series 2 of the Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge, and we also have Cheering for Charity, with the Poppy Appeal as tonight’s charity partner. We are also excited to share that Pinstriped has been confirmed as the Club’s slot representative in the Ladbrokes Supernova, the second race in Southside Racing’s slot series. The race will be held next Saturday, 13 December, at Pakenham over 1400 metres. Pinstriped, trained by Enver Jusufovic, is a Group 1 winner and the 2023 Feehan Stakes champion. We hope he can follow the example set by Jigsaw, who won the Club’s slot in The Meteorite earlier this year. MVRC members will also enjoy reciprocal rights at the Ladbrokes Pakenham Cup meeting. The Valley’s transferred meetings continue next Friday at Geelong for a big afternoon of racing, before we return to Southside Cranbourne on Saturday, 27 December. This meeting is shaping up to be a great way to celebrate the holiday season, with plenty of on-course activities for families and children. We hope to see you on track soon. 8 STEWARDS REPORT Race 1 The Valley @ Southside Cranbourne Plate 1400M Moonbolt Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight near the 300m. When questioned regarding her riding from the 800m, rider explained it had been her intention to trail Star Compass from that point, however, when clear running was available to that runner’s inside, she elected to maintain her line to the inside of Star Compass from the 600m as Moonbolt only has a short sprint and she felt she would have to do too much work if she attempted to improve from the 600m. Rider added that after being briefly held up, she was able to obtain clear running for the majority of the WNBL 30/10/2025 Prince Of Brooky Knuckled on jumping away.PAKM 14/11/2025 Tensile Near 300m was hampered and taken out several horses. CRAN31/10/2025 Measure Of Time Approaching the 200m when laying in was eased when awkwardly placed close to heels. DON 16/11/2025 Noble Work Laid in in the straight. From the 300m whilst laying in, had difficulty securing clear running and passing the 100m laid in and was restrained to avoid the heels BRAT 20/11/2025 Rathlin Express Rider reported after beginning only fairly and with runners to the inside showing superior speed elected to restrain and settle further back. SEYM 13/11/2025 Markdel Began awkwardly and shortly after had to be checked after becoming badly crowded. HAWK 08/03/2025 Ruby Avenue Passing the 500m was brushed and carried wider PAKM 21/11/2025 Just Jenni Raced three wide without cover throughout. Tactics queried. Rider reported that whilst the filly had led at its first race start he was instructed to attempt to find cover today, which is consistent with the manner in which it has been ridden in its jump-outs. He added that when he was unable to find cover, his mount was left racing three wide throughout. BDGO 30/05/2025 Smarticon Lost its NH plate during running. GEEL 14/11/2025 Artful Lodger Rdr said mount raced flat and may have come to end of preparation. Post race vet exam revealed no abs. Tnr said horse to be spelled. CRAN18/01/2025 Elonia Rider reported his mount, which was having its first race start, travelled well in the lead, however weakened over the final 200m and in his opinion may not have appreciated the heavy track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. BDGO 26/06/2025 Miss Magoo Passing the 200m shifted out and bumped. Held up for clear running from the 100m until shifting out to gain clear running at the 50m. Y VL 21/01/2025 Two Sigma (NZ) Raced keenly in the early stages and near the 1100m was steadied off heels. SANL 02/07/2025 Golden Age Bumped at the start. MORN 10/11/2025 Secret Elegance Passing the 200m was inconvenienced and had to shift wider. Rider reported that he was instructed to ride his mount where comfortable and after being beaten for speed in the early stages, the mare settled towards the rear. BRAT 20/11/2025 Race 4 Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge Series 2 - Heat 2 955M Auckland Knuckled on jumping away. Brushed over the concluding stages. MORN 10/11/2025 Flip The Switch Slow to begin. Raced very ungenerously with its head up in the middle stages and blundered passing the 550m. Following the race, it was reported that the mare had lost its off-hind plate in running. SAPH 01/12/2025 King West Shortly after the start shifted in and bumped. Raced keenly outside the leader. Rider reported raced keen but gave ground quickly. Slow recovery. HTON11/10/2025 Pocket Size Near the 150m was steadied when tightened for room PAKM 17/10/2025 Blackberry Bomb Rider could offer no explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any significant findings. Trainer expressed disappointment in the performance of the filly, which he had advised worked well leading into today’s race. He advised that Blackberry Bomb would undergo a thorough veterinary examination on return to the stables. Warning recorded for the poor performance. Follow up. SANH14/06/2025 Per Ivy (NZ) Began awkwardly. Near 200m was awkwardly placed close to heels of Ka Ying Lucky, which shifted in slightly. Per Ivy then raced in restricted room for a short distance near 150m CRAN31/10/2025
9 STEWARDS REPORT Pacific Glamour Near the 900m brushed on the hindquarters of Tesoro Mio which shifted in when tightened for room by Surprisatic which had in turn shifted in and away from Facilitate. Near the 500m shifted out and bumped another runner on several occasions. Rider Luke Currie reported the filly would be better suited when stepping up to a distance greater than tonight’s 1000m. GEEL 26/11/2025 Ongatiti (NZ) Held up for clear running form the 400m until approaching the 200m. DON 16/11/2025 Jenni Intiba Held up between the 300m and 200m. GEEL 26/11/2025 Whisky Moon Restrained from the wide barrier to obtain cover at the rear of the field. PAKM 21/11/2025 Mercante Bumped on jumping. Held up from 500m-300m. Rider std instr to ride mount with cover & settled towards rear. Std passing 600m was positioned inside heels & elected not to steady & shift wider as he was following favourite, however when that rnr did not improve mount was held up. Std in home straight was unsure whether to shift to inside or outside of rnr in advance, which was shifting ground, however when in clear running mount finished off only fairly. Add in hindsight better option was to shift to outside of horses near 600m. Post-race vet exam - no abnormalities. KILM 31/10/2025 Amawasha Eased when tightened for room near the 150m. Rider could offer no explanation for the poor performance. Vet reported no abnormalities. KYNE 18/11/2025 Race 6 AFW Garment & Fabric Suppliers Handicap 1400M Charming Deel Slow to begin. Rider Jamie Mott reported his mount felt uncomfortable in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off foreleg. A veterinary clearance will be required prior to racing again. CAUH07/05/2025 Stage ‘N’ Screen (NZ) Hampered at the start when tightened for room. Raced three wide without cover throughout. Rider stated through the early stages he had every intention of crossing to settle outside the leader, however, he was aware Xarpo was over racing and maintaining a position to his inside and therefore did not feel it was safe to cross. Rider acknowledged in hindsight he may have been better served showing more intent from the barriers to settle outside the leader. Stable advised will now be spelled CAUL 28/06/2025 Gellhorn Steadied off heels near the 250m. Rdr said mount laid out and may appreciate tracks with more give. Post race vet exam revealed no abs. CAUL 15/03/2025 Queen Beira Slow to begin. R: the mare failed to travel throughout and failed to handle the synthetic track surface. BRTS 08/07/2025 Reina Isabella Began awkwardly. PAKM 07/11/2025 Clavel Began awkwardly and as a result was slow into stride. R: the mare was not suited on today’s soft track conditions. KILM 23/11/2025 Thunder Hawk Raced wide in the early stages before settling outside the leader near the 1200m. PAKS 14/07/2025 Canara Fractious in the barriers. Rdr said mount was racing with Blinkers on and as it can overrace he was reluctant to make use of horse to hold a more prominent position and as such he allowed runner to shift in advance of horse near the 1100m. 12 Group 1 winner Pinstriped is set to represent the Moonee Valley Racing Club on December 13 in the $1 million Ladbrokes Supernova at Southside Pakenham. Following the Club’s victory combining with Cirka McEwen Stakes winner Jigsaw in the $1 million Ladbrokes Meteorite, it’s another Valley specialist in Enver Jusufovic’s Feehan Stakes winner who will y the ag for the Club in the 1400 metre contest. Pinstriped, an earner of $1.9 million in prizemoney, last raced on November 15 when nishing fourth in the Group 1 C.F. Orr Stakes. “Pinstriped is a proven Group 1 performer at 1400 metres as a winner of the Memsie Stakes and he lost no admirers last start finishing behind the likes of Jimmysstar and Angel Capital,” MVRC Chief Executive Michael Browell said. We intensified our search after Jigsaw’s win the Ladbrokes Supernova and are pleased to come to an arrangement with a horse of Pinstriped’s quality and hope the Club remain at the top of the Slot Series Bonus leaderboard.” The Moonee Valley Racing Club sits atop of the leaderboard on 14 points, with the leader after the two-race series driving away with a new $60,000 vehicle. Carleen Hefel will wear a special set of silks which combines the MVRC logo with Pinstriped’s familiar silks and Jusufovic is confident the seven-year-old is ready to run a big race. “It’s been a frustrating preparation without much luck, and the public probably haven’t seen the proper Pinstriped this spring,” his trainer said. “But he is holding his condition really well and has been working terrific so I’d expect nothing less than a bold showing. “I think the Pakenham circumference will really suit him.” The Moonee Valley Racing Club finished in equal first place in the 2024 Slot Series Bonus when Baraqiel and Chorlton Lane both finished third in the Meteorite and Supernova.
