He added that the gelding dipped throughout the run and failed to finish off as anticipated. Whilst he acknowledged these reasons for underperforming, he was unable to offer any other explanation. CAUL 11/04/2026 Shangri La Impact (NZ) Rdr reported that it was his intention to lead the event, however, when he observed runners to his inside being ridden forward with intent and he felt his mount wasn’t displaying sufficient speed, he elected to shift inwards and obtain cover in a midfield position. When questioned, rdr said he anticipated settling outside the lead, however when there was a line of runners to his inside immediately after the start he elected to ride the filly with cover. CANT28/11/2025 Fiorenza Began only fairly. Raced keenly through the early and middle stages. A post-race vet exam revealed the mare to be displaying heat stress which required treatment. Tnr was advised a vet clearance required prior to next race/trial. Vet clearance since received. HAWK 08/04/2026 Virgil’s Gift Rdr reportede filly travelled comfortably outside lead. Std the filly came under pressure rounding home turn & when commenced to give ground after the 300m she ceased riding it out & when she had some concerns, she eased it down over final 200m. Std did notice the horse to be making an abnormal respiratory noise on pulling up. Post-race vet exam: no abnormalities. Co-tnr was advised a vet clearance, including results of an endoscopic exam, will be required before the filly barrier trials to satisfaction of Stwds prior to being permitted to race.
