CAUL 11/10/2025 Highvol Rdr reported it had been his intention to settle in a forward position, however after beginning awkwardly and when caught wide he elected to restrain to obtain cover. Added however that when Sir Delius was able to find a position nearer the rail at the 1300m, he was then left racing wide and without cover from this point. Further added that prior to straightening, he was able to improve to the outside of Sir Delius and in a position to hold that horse to his inside when Sir Delius was trailing Young Werther gave ground on straightening, he was left in front and he allowed Antino to continue to improve. FLEM 04/10/2025 Attrition Rdr reported that it was his intention to settle further forward, however, despite being ridden along in the early stages his mnt did not muster speed and settled further back than intended. He said when the tempo commenced to slacken in the middle stages he took the opportunity, when racing three wide, to improve to race outside the leader, near the 800m. RHIL 11/10/2025 Globe (NZ) Raced keenly early and mid-race. Rider Blake Shinn stated he was instructed to lead and, after obtaining the lead, elected to shift away from the rail where the gelding travelled comfortably. He anticipated Hard To Cross (NZ) would restrain and settle behind him, but when it continued to race keenly to his outside, he chose to ease his mount and settle behind it. Shinn explained this decision was made to maintain rhythm and avoid contesting the lead at a strong tempo, which could have impacted his mount’s performance SANH 27/09/2025 Via Sistina (IRE) When questioned rider explained he had anticipated settling second. He added, in the early stages he was able to find that position however, Via Sistina laid out and when a runner improved quickly to his inside when over racing, it then shifted him wider and move him to a three wide position, where he then eased and took cover. When questioned if he could have made more use of his mount in the early stages and held a position closer to the leader, he stated he never asked the mare to hold a position in her races rather just travel where comfortable. See Stewards report for further explanation. FLEM 13/09/2025 Treasurethe MomentRdr said mount travelled well however failed to respond and was disappointing. Post race vet exam revealed no abs. Tnr said x-rays and veterinary exams subs to race had revealed no abs. Added decision will be made in the coming week to determine if horse continues with current preparation. CAUL 11/10/2025 Aeliana (NZ) When questioned regarding his riding in the early stages and in particular as to the circumstances surrounding Deakin able to shift in advance of his mount near the 1300m, R Ex instructed to settle with cover, handy to the speed.Whilst he was aware that Deakin was shifting in towards the rail, as he felt he would have to make use of his mount to hold that position and he was of the view he would be able to move wider and ultimately trail Sir Delius later in the race, he allowed Deakin to cross, whereby Aeliana travelled comfortably.
