BY BEN SPORLE Port Albert might have gone 468 days between wins, but Nick Ryan’s galloper certainly hasn’t forgotten how to run fast, after clocking 55.23 to take the mantle as the Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge Series 2 leader following his win last Friday night. It’s not the first time the six-year-old has been successful over the unique distance of 955-metres winning on Ladbrokes Cox Plate Eve in 2024 at The Valley – ironically in the exact same time! It has been a case of each horse running a fast time than the heat previously, with Scott Cameron’s Sharing Moments time of 55.56 only holding the clubhouse leader position for seven days. PORT ALBERT CLOCKS IDENTICAL 955M TIME AT TWO DIFFERENT TRACKS
