Added horse which was carrying Cross Over Nose Band for first time may have resented this gear. Added whilst horse raced too keenly it was nevertheless disappointing. Rider explained that Alpha Sofie overraced noticeably after he was unable to obtain cover. He added that Alpha Sofie had raced keenly when the filly won at Caulfield on 7 February 2026, however in today’s race refused to settle despite his efforts and as a result the filly tired over the latter stages. Trainer advised that Alpha Sofie had pleased leading into the race and would be assessed on return to the stables.
