CHAIR ADAM LENNEN CHAIR’S WELCOME HELLO AND WELCOME TO WILLIAM REID STAKES DAY THE VALLEY @ CAULFIELD. Today marks a milestone as the first of The Valley’s Group 1 meetings to be held away from the course during the redevelopment. This year sees the 100th running of the William Reid Stakes, a race with an honour roll featuring some of Australia’s finest sprinters, including Black Caviar, Imperatriz, Apache Cat, Miss Andretti and the great Manikato, who won five consecutive editions. It headlines a strong program of autumn racing, with six stakes races on the card, including the Group 2 DCE Alister Clark Stakes and Packaging Needs Sunline Stakes. Off the track, racegoers can try their luck with the return of the Ladbrokes Legendary Putt, with the chance to win up to $10,000. Today also marks our final meeting of the 2025/26 season. During this period of redevelopment, the Club has raced at Geelong, Southside Racing and today here at Caulfield. I thank those clubs for their support and hospitality in hosting our meetings. Finally, thank you to our members and partners for your continued support throughout this season of transition. Enjoy the racing, and I look forward to welcoming you back for the 2026/27 season.
