A post-race vet examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg and to have sustained a laceration to its near hindleg. Rider reported the gelding, which was competing over the live hedges for the first occasion, did not jump confidently, failed to travel and would be better suited racing over regular steeplechase fences. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. A veterinary clearance is required prior to the gelding being permitted to race or officially trial again.
