HE’S ESSENTIAL (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly. Pulled up by its rider shortly after the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a fracture to the near foreleg and the gelding was subsequently euthanised on humane grounds. EQUAL BALANCE (J Hampson) – Shifted outwards across heels to obtain clear running passing the 200m. THE MEN WENT HOME (P Denton) –Bumped and carried outwards approaching the 1400m. Raced wide from the 550m. Returned with blood on the near fore hoof from a minor injury that required no further veterinary treatment. THE FINAL WORD (S Logan) – Commenced awkwardly. Bumped and crowded for room for several strides approaching the 1400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have returned with an elevated heart rate. GRINZINGER BISHOP (H Le Blanc) – Slow into stride. FIERCE LEGEND (A Sweeney) – Lay inwards and contacted another runner approaching the 1400m. General - On inquiry it was established that approaching the 1400m FIERCE LEGEND (A Sweeney) lay inwards despite the efforts of its rider, bumped and crowded THE FINAL WORD (S Logan) for several strides which in turn bumped and unbalanced HENNESY LAD (P Hamblin) 1ST THE MEN WENT HOME 2ND GRINZINGER BISHOP 3RD HENNESSY LAD Race 2: Administrator’s Cup 0-58 – 1300m RISING FIRE (J Lyon) – Crowded and impeded near the 250m. BLOWN AWAY (A Sweeney) – Commenced awkwardly. BEATIFICATION (S Logan) – Slow into stride. THE ALBION (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly. BAD MAN (H Le Blanc) – Began to yield ground from the 600m losing contact with the field. A postrace veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Due to the poor performance, trainer D Leech was advised that the gelding must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards before racing again. THE STIFMEISTER (J Booth) – Lay outwards under pressure from the 200m. RISING WATER (P Shiers) – Slow into stride. ROC DE RUSSIAN (K Sardelic) – Raced wide throughout. 1ST KESSLER 2ND FRANKFURT 3RD TO THE POINT Race 3: Silks Darwin Maiden Plate SW – 1200m NATURE GIRL (J Hampson) – Declared a late scratching at 11.43am on veterinary advice after a mishap in the horse stalls shortly after arriving on course. Trainer K Healy was advised that he must present a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. CEE PEE ONE (J Lyon) – Crowded between runners and restrained at the start. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that in his opinion his mount would be better suited over an increased distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. GO BARNEY GO (K Sardelic) – Raced wide throughout. NUNNIONG (A Nicholls) – Commenced awkwardly. CASSETTE (J Booth) – Held up rounding the home turn. JUELENE (S Logan) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Lay outwards from the 600m until entering the home straight.
