Held up from the 500m to the 400m and was taken outwards to obtain clear running. HELLIVIT (P Denton) – Bounded on jumping. Raced wide throughout. SIBERIAN LARCH (E Lines) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. IRASCIBLE MISS (C Hunter) - Bumped with another runner on jumping. Lay outwards rounding the home turn. 1ST LITTLE DITTY 2ND CAPTAIN GEORGE 3RD MISS BLACK DIAMOND Race 7: bet365 Palmerston Sprint – 1200m Stewards interviewed trainer’s P Cole and G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions they intended to issue as each stable had multiple runners in the event. Stewards considered a protest lodged by Mr P Cole trainer of the fourth placed STAR MAGNUM against the third placed IDEAS MAN ridden by Jockey M Pegus alleging interference prior to straightening. It was established prior to straightening that STAR MAGNUM shifted outwards slightly and contacted the hindquarters of IDEAS MAN and accordingly it had not caused interference to STAR MAGNUM and in those circumstances, Stewards dismissed the protest. IDEAS MAN (M Pegus) – Contacted on the hindquarters by another runner prior to straightening. STAR MAGNUM (E Lines) – Fractious in the barriers. Commenced awkwardly. Contacted another runner prior to straightening. SPACESHIP (J Todd) – Bumped with another runner shortly after the start, became unbalanced and was steadied. When questioned regarding performance rider reported that after receiving this interference his mount raced keenly until the 600m and did not finish the race off as anticipated. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. KERIOTH (K Yuill) – Fractious in the barriers and reared on a number of occasions prior to the start. Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be mildly lame in the off fore. Trainer C Pollard was advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again. CIELO D’ORO (I Luximon) – Shifted inwards on jumping. Ridden vigorously out of the barriers to obtain a forward position and when being straightened by its rider, bumped with another runner shortly after the start. General - On inquiry it was established that CIEOLO D’ORO (I Luximon) had jumped inwards on jumping and when being straightened by its rider shortly after the start, shifted outwards slightly and contacted the hindquarters of STAR SHIP (J Todd) causing it to be become unbalanced with its rider having to steady his mount. General - On inquiry it was established that approaching the 650m RUPERT’S DELIGHT (S Fawke) shifted inwards marginally when racing inside other runners and contacted STYLE AND GRACE (J Todd) with it then contacting the running rail and being checked losing ground. Jockeys K Yuill (LAMOREE) and A Nicholls (THROW AT DA STUMPS) advised that they had maintained their racing positions to the outside of RUPERT’S DELIGHT which was supported by the Stewards patrol footage. HETTINGER (C Newitt) – Threw its head on jumping and bumped with another runner. Following the unplaced performance a post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer N Dyer advised that the gelding will now have a spell. HADOUKEN (T Schiller) – Raced wide throughout. MASATORA (C Hefel) – Bumped at the start. 16 Betting Regulations BET LIMITS At all race meetings conducted in the Northern Territory, a bookmaker is obliged to lay the odds displayed if demanded by the backer (including bet backs), except that the bookmaker is not compelled to lose on any one bet more than: (a) $1000 on any one Win only bet, Win and Place bet or Each Way bet. (b) $600 on any one Place only bet. (c) These limits apply up until 3 minutes prior to the advertised starting time of all local and interstate races. (d) No bookmaker shall accept a bet of less than $1 or where the bet is win and place - $1 each way. Prior to the commencement of betting on each race bookmakers must display a sign on their board clearly stating whether they wish to bet Win Only, Win and Place, Place Only or Each Way. Provided that once betting for that race has commenced no bookmaker is permitted to change from the form of betting displayed on their board. A bookmaker operating on a racecourse shall exhibit the odds first offered by him or her on each horse engaged in a local race at least 30 minutes before the advertised starting time of the first race and thereafter within 5 minutes after the declaration of correct weight or announcement of a protest. BETTING Bookmakers will payout in the following manner depending on the number of runners in the field at the time the bet was placed: 8 or more runners – pay first, second and third 5, 6 or 7 runners – pay first and second 4 runners or less – pay first only LATE SCRATCHING In the event a horse is a late scratching all bets on that runner are to be refunded (except for all in betting) and the Stewards will order deductions apply to all successful wagers on the race. DISPUTES Punters are advised to check the details of their betting ticket prior to leaving the vicinity of the Bookmakers stand.
