Race 1 - C Pollard, Race 3 - G Clarke, Race 6 - P Cole •J Todd was examined by Ambulance Officers prior to race 1 and was declared unfit to ride. J Todd was advised a medical clearance would be required prior to riding again. •As there was no other suitable rider on course, App. L Maloney was granted permission to replace J Todd on the following horses; Race 1 – BIDEN TIME, Race 2 - STORMFRONT RACE 1 – LADBROKES SWITCH 0-58 HANDICAP 1600M HELL AND BACK (S Tsaikos): Raced awkwardly rounding the turn near the 1250m and got its head up. Laid in rounding the turn near the 650m. NEW ENTERPRISE (App. D Barton): Slow to begin. Raced wide for most of the event. Rider pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(6)(c), in that she used her whip, whilst her horse was out of contention, over the final 100m of the event, and was fined $100. MY LUNA (App. J Booth): Rider reported the mare was slow to muster in the early stages of the event. RACE 2 – MITCON PROJECTS BM76 HANDICAP 1300M General: Correct weight was delayed momentarily to allow S Tsaikos (HENNESSY LAD (NZ) to view the films, in relation to a possible protest. After doing so he did not proceed. STORMFRONT (App. L Maloney): Rider was issued with a reprimand under AR132(6)(c), for using his whip, whilst his horse was out of contention, over the final 100m of the event. ROSSANADO (App. D Barton): Raced wide until rounding the home turn. HENNESSY LAD (NZ) (S Tsaikos): As there was no other rider available to ride at the horses allotted weight, S Tsaikos was granted permission to ride the gelding 1.5kgs overweight. S Tsaikos subsequently, pleaded guilty to a charge under AR190(3) for accepting the ride for which he was overweight. After considering all the circumstances S Tsaikos was fined $100. Slow to begin. VIERI (W Davis): Slow to begin. HEBEL (App. D Gillett): Raced wide from the 600m. RACE 3 – VALE GAVIN CLARKE OPEN 1200M FIELD OF FLUTES (App. J Booth): Laid in, in the early stages of the event. BON’S PRIDE (V Arnott): Began awkwardly and lost ground. Rider explained that the gelding consequently raced further back than intended and had restricted room in the back straight. A postrace veterinary examination found the gelding to be lame in the left front leg. Trainer J Manning was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to competing in a trial or race. RACE 4 – NT NEWS BM54 HANDICAP 1100M TIGERS ROAR (App. D Gillett): Rider reported the gelding hung in rounding the home turn. ROMANTIC LOVE (S Tsaikos): Rider explained the gelding was under pressure throughout the event and failed to respond in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Trainer T Gillett confirmed it is his intention to spell the gelding. RACE 5 – FATHERS DAY AT SILKS 0-70 HANDICAP 1100M MONTJUIC MAGIC (D Hirini): Began awkwardly, shifted out and hampered IF I WAS YOU. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. STARZAM (App. J Booth): Began awkwardly. LITTLEBOURKESTREET (App. D Barton): Raced wide without cover for most of the event. IF I WAS YOU (W Davis): Hampered at the start by MONTJUIC MAGIC, on its inside. Raced wide rounding the home turn and in the straight.
