4 Stewards Report Race 1 THOROUGHBRED PARK EVENT CENTRE HANDICAP 1080M Vainstream Rider reported that although the gelding has somewhat established wet track form in his opinion failed to handle the Heavy 10 surface. WAGG 21/06/2026 Ransaigh Star On jumping became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters. Approaching the 1350m was hampered when bumped. K GR 20/06/2026 Golden Warrior Began awkwardly.ACT 26/06/2026 Wrong Footed Passing the 850m over-raced and had to be checked from the heels of rnr. Was held up rounding the home turn. Rider was questioned as to why, in the early part of the straight and when held up on the heels of a rnr, he had not directed his mnt to the outside of the heels of that rnr to obtain that run when ultimately other rnr was able to obtain that run. He stated that he felt other rnr had had that run and as such was disappointed for run. Stewards advised that when runs present he should endeavour to put mnts in position to take advantage. ACT 26/06/2026 Papaver Miner Whilst making its way to the barriers, the gelding took charge of its rider for some distance before being brought under control by its rider. The gelding was examined by the Club’s veterinary officer and cleared suitable to race. Raced three-wide throughout. MRYA 23/01/2026 Dantains Prize Began awkwardly. MRYA 19/06/2026 Xtrascent Was carried wider by the riderless horse passing the 800m. Rider reported that the gelding did not appear to handle the heavy (9) surface. Rdr advised when placed under pressure from the 600m, the gelding proved disappointing. Stewards advised she should have made that decision earlier in back straight. Trn advised stewards instr were to ride a little more conservatively and he was surprised to see geld race so far fwd. Laid out under pressure in the home straight and proved difficult to fully test. K GR 20/06/2026 Prophet’s Promise Rider was advised that in the middle stages, when her mount was trapped three-wide and when it was racing keenly, given the moderate tempo, it would have been more preferable for her to have allowed her mount to continue forward after the 1000m to cross rnr to settle to the outside of the leader, rather than continuing to race three-wide throughout. ACT 26/06/2026 Ridgeback Rider could offer no explanation for the gelding’s poor performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying a poor postrace recovery. Trainer was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding barrier trialling or racing again. Vet clearance since received.
