All horse registrations in Australia are recorded and administered by the Registrar of Racehorses. The functions of the Registrar of Racehorses include:
• Registration of all horses to race in Australia
• Naming of Racehorses
• Information of Visiting and Imported horses
• Processing and recording Transfers of Ownership
Horse names protected through the ISBC October 2012 as having met the
necessary criteria of either being the sire of at least 15 Gr.1 winners or the dam
of at least 2 Gr.1 winners and another black type winner

• Unbridled’s Song
• Voltage
Horse name protected by the IFHA under special application in October 2012
• Black Caviar
Horse name protected by the IFHA as the winner of a famous international race
• Green Moon
(winner of the 2012 Melbourne Cup)
