The All Aged Stakes over 1400m had its first running in 1866 with Falcon the winner. Yattendon (having won the first Sydney Cup in 1866) won the All Aged Stakes in 1867. He became one of the winners who sired winners, siring the 1874 winner Fitz-Yattendon. Yattendon also appeared in the breeding of Pardon dam of Lady Betty winner in 1888 and Grand Flaneur sire of winner Hopscotch in 1897. Triple winner Ajax was also represented by a winning sire line through Achilles, who won in 1951. In the modern era, Flying Spur, the 1996 winner, sired Casino Prince, who in turn produced All Too Hard, the 2013 winner. Though Ajax was the only horse to have three wins in the race, a number of doubles appear in the list including Tim Whiffler (1870, 1871), Carbine (1889, 1890), Marvel (1891, 1894), Gladsome (1904, 1905), Malt King (1911,1912), Yaralla (1942, 1943), Kilshery (1962, 1963), Dalrello (1976, 1977), Rough Habit (1992, 1993) and Sunline (2000, 2002).
