Rdr reported after having difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight, he identified a run starting to develop after passing the 300m, and after shifting outwards in an endeavour to obtain this run, the run then closed and he was obliged to severely check to avoid heels. Co-tnr confirmed the instructions were to have the mare ridden in a more forward position as it had not been closing its races off when being ridden conservatively this preparation.
