ALPHA STREET (A Nicholls) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider was of the opinion that his mount did not finish the race off as anticipated due to the solid pace set in the early and middle stages. HALLOWED GROUND (A Herrmann) – Raced wide throughout. VALABING (K Sardelic) – Took charge of the rider in the preliminary and after undergoing a veterinary examination was cleared to compete. Bounded at the start and lost ground. 1ST MR JONES 2ND FULL DAMAGE 3RD CAPTAIN GEORGE Race 3: Scarvila Room is Open TROBIS Handicap 0-58 – 1200m DUMMY SPIT (S Logan) – Crowded for room and clipped a heel near the 650m. Returned with a laceration to the off-fore pastern. Cast the off-fore plate in running. LUNA FIELD (J Booth) – Over raced from the 800m until taken outwards from heels approaching the 650m. IMPULSIVITY (J Todd) – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout. NY KEE (D Gillett) – Crowded between runners at the start. Raced wide from the 600m. ROC DE RUSSIAN (K Sardelic) – Bumped at the start. AUSSIE JAWSIE (J Hampson) – Delayed the start after proving difficult to load. Trainer P Cole was advised that a warning would now be placed on the filly in this regard. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. General – On inquiry, it was established that leaving the 800m LUNA FIELD (J Booth) commenced to over race and approaching the 650m shifted out from heels and DUMMY SPIT (S Logan) improved to the inside. A short distance later LUNA FIELD shifted back in marginally resulting in DUMMY SPIT being crowded and as a result clipped a heel. Stewards were satisfied that apprentice J Booth was having difficulty negotiating the first turn due to her mount’s racing manner and therefore no further action was taken. 1ST LUNA FIELD 2ND DUMMY SPIT 3RD ASTERN MAGIC Race 4: Happy 70th Birthday Henry Crossley Handicap 0-66 – 1200m Stewards interviewed trainer K Healy in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event. LOCHLORIAN (J Booth) – Dislodged the rider approaching the barriers and after completing a circuit of the track riderless, the gelding was declared a late withdrawal by the Stewards acting on veterinary advice at 2.38pm. Apprentice J Booth was uninjured in this incident. All bets placed on LOCHLORIAN were ordered to be refunded and the following deductions were applicable to successful bets placed prior to 2.38pm: 42c win 28c place 28c place 25c place EQUAL BALANCE (D Gillett) – Slow into stride.
