2 It is with great pleasure that I welcome you, on behalf of the Mt. Wycheproof & District Racing Club Committee, to the Elders Mt. Wycheproof Cup Day – Derby Day in the Country. Today is one of the highlights of our local calendar, and we are delighted to welcome racegoers, families, friends and visitors to Wycheproof for another wonderful celebration of country racing. There is no better place to experience the excitement and atmosphere of Derby Day than right here in Wycheproof. Our Cup Day has a proud history and continues to be an occasion that our community looks forward to each year. From the action on the track to the celebrations around the course, it is a day that captures the very best of country racing. We are incredibly proud of the reputation the Mt. Wycheproof Cup has established as one of the Buloke Shire’s premier events. It provides a wonderful opportunity to bring people to our town, support our local community and showcase the genuine hospitality that country Victoria is renowned for. The success of our Cup Day is built on the generosity and loyalty of the many businesses, organisations and individuals who support our Club. We sincerely thank our valued major partner, Elders, for their continued commitment to the Mt. Wycheproof Cup. We also acknowledge our race name sponsors Busbiz, McLennan Bulk Fuel, Hayden Kelly & Family, Nutrien Ag Solutions, bet365 and the Miller Family, together with our club sponsors Ecycle Solutions, TAC and Pan Pacific Melbourne. We are extremely fortunate to have such a wonderful group of sponsors whose support enables us to deliver an event of which our community can be proud. Our appreciation also extends to the Wycheproof Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, the Wycheproof Community Resource Centre, our local businesses and community organisations, and the many volunteers who generously give their time to help make Cup Day a success. Their contribution is an important part of what makes this event so special. To all Owners, Trainers and Jockeys participating today, thank you for your support of our race meeting. We wish you a successful and enjoyable day and trust you will appreciate the warm welcome and hospitality of our Club. I would also like to recognise the outstanding efforts of our Committee Members and volunteers. The planning, preparation and work required to stage a successful Cup Day is considerable, and their dedication throughout the year is greatly appreciated. Our Club is fortunate to have a committed group of people who take enormous pride in ensuring this event continues to grow and prosper. Here’s to a fantastic day of racing, great company and enjoy the magic of Derby Day in the Country! Kevin Thompson President On Behalf of the Community & Volunteers PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
