HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE FIRST OF OUR TRANSFERRED RACE MEETINGS AT SOUTHSIDE CRANBOURNE. Last week’s 2025 Ladbrokes Cox Plate Carnival was truly memorable. We celebrated the final meetings on the current track as we now turn our focus to The Valley of Tomorrow. The 105th running of the W.S. Cox Plate delivered a fitting finale, with Via Sistina showing tremendous grit to hold off Buckaroo and secure consecutive Ladbrokes Cox Plates for Yulong Investments. For James McDonald, it marked a fourth straight win in the race, equalling Hugh Bowman’s record, while Chris Waller trained his sixth Ladbrokes Cox Plate winner. Jigsaw’s victory in the Group 2 Cirka McEwen Stakes has earned the Cindy Alderson-trained sprinter the Club’s slot in The Meteorite at Southside Cranbourne. On Friday night, Onesmoothoperator stormed home to claim the Group 2 Ladbrokes Gold Cup and now shapes as a leading contender for the Melbourne Cup after securing a Golden Ticket. Congratulations also to James McDonald on winning the Brent Thomson Jockey Challenge as the most successful rider across the two days. Thank you to our members, sponsors, and partners for helping create a fantastic atmosphere across the Carnival. We now embark on this exciting period of change, with the Club hosting race meetings at Southside Racing, Geelong Racing Club, and MRC Caulfield throughout the remainder of the 2025/26 season. I look forward to keeping you informed as The Valley’s redevelopment progresses. Whether you are on track tonight or enjoying the action from our Members’ Hub at Legends, I wish you a wonderful evening. CHAIR ADAM LENNEN CHAIR’S WELCOME
