The Club recognises former Chairman of the Moonee Valley Racing Club, Bob Scarborough, by naming the Group 3 sprint for fillies in his honour. Bob played a significant role during his 15-year tenure on the MVRC's Committee, including eight years as Chairman. During his tenure, he represented the boards of Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria, VOBIS, the boards overseeing production and broadcasting companies for the state's thoroughbred media rights, and the Australian Pattern Committee. One of his noteworthy achievements was wholeheartedly endorsing the Chief Executive's vision of rotating the track 90 degrees clockwise. Over a diligent four-year period, Bob tirelessly guided the Committee and the Club in securing approval for a comprehensive Master Plan to redevelop the Club's real estate assets.
