ROBERT CRAM It is a great privilege to know that Robert Cram will see out his final metropolitan race meeting here at The Valley today, Saturday 29th July 2023 as Chairman of Stewards, Racing Victoria. Cram announced his retirement last month after 41 years of service to the Victorian Thoroughbred Racing Industry. Cram was first employed by the Victoria Racing Club as a Cadet Steward in 1982. He assumed the role of Chairman of Stewards in the South Western, Ballarat District and Northern District regions of Victoria, while also serving as the Director of the State's Apprentice Jockey Training Program from 1991-1996. Cram was elevated to the position of Senior Stipendiary Steward in 1996, before being appointed Deputy Chairman of Stewards - Non Raceday Integrity & Compliance by RV in 2005. He then assumed the role of Manager - Integrity Services for two years from 2008 before returning to the position of Deputy Chairman of Stewards in 2010. Robert Cram was promoted to Chairman of Stewards in 2018 and retires at the completion of this 2023/23 season after five years in the role. The Moonee Valley Racing Club (MVRC) thanks Robert for his commitment and tireless dedication to the upholding of the integrity of racing and wishes him well in his retirement.
