Today, the Moonee Valley Racing Club will pay tribute to the memory of Travis Harrison by hosting the annual Travis Harrison Cup. Travis Harrison, a talented young apprentice jockey, had a bright future ahead of him until his unfortunate passing at the tender age of 18 in 1996, when he tragically lost his life in a car accident. Travis Harrison hailed from a distinguished racing background and swiftly showcased his skills by achieving an impressive record of 88 victories as a jockey. One of his most noteworthy triumphs took place in 1996 at The Valley, where he guided Suma Peace to a resounding victory in the Group 2 Diamond Jubilee Stakes, now known as the Sunline Stakes. 1978 1996
