Moonee Valley Racing Club respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of this land, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, and pay our respects to its Elders past, present and emerging. It’s great to be back racing, and we commence Summer at The Valley with an incredible Australia Stakes Day meeting. It’s a Celebration of the Horse on and off the track, with interactions and demonstrations, including the Australia Light Horse, a visit from Living Legends and the presence of RV’s Off The Track horses. The celebration culminates in the thrilling spectacle of the Group 2 Sharp EIT Solutions Australia Stakes. Among the highlights is having past champions Apache Cat and Hartnell in attendance. Apache Cat enjoyed success at The Valley on multiple occasions, including twice in Group 1 company. On today’s card, the Moonee Valley Racing Club pays tribute to the memory of Travis Harrison, with the annual running of the Ranvet Travis Harrison Cup. Travis was a talented young jockey who sadly lost his life in a car accident at the age of 18. Racing is back in full swing, with six straight weeks of Ladbrokes Friday Night Lights commencing Friday, 2 February. I look forward to seeing you at The Valley for all the exciting action under lights in the coming weeks.
