The Valley

CHAIR ADAM LENNEN CHAIR’S WELCOME GOOD EVENING AND WELCOME TO LADBROKES MANIKATO STAKES NIGHT AT THE VALLEY. We are thrilled to mark the spectacular return of Ladbrokes Friday Night Lights, highlighted by the $2 million Group 1 Ladbrokes Manikato Stakes. Tonight’s feature has drawn an outstanding line-up of sprinters, headlined by multiple Group 1-winning mare Lady Shenandoah and Valley specialist Baraqiel, unbeaten here in four starts and fresh from his Group 1 win in the Charter Keck Cramer Moir Stakes. The action doesn’t stop there. The Group 2 Ladbrokes Feehan Stakes is another highlight, with Treasurethe Moment on the path to the Ladbrokes Cox Plate, while last year’s winner Pride Of Jenni returns for her first run of the spring. With a golden ticket on offer into the 2025 Ladbrokes Cox Plate, it promises to be a race to remember. Away from the track, AFL Grand Final Eve brings its own buzz to The Valley. Fans can test their skills in the Kick & Win and handball competitions, meet AFL and AFLW stars, and take a shot at big prizes in the Ladbrokes Legendary Putt. The entertainment continues with live music throughout the night and a post-race concert by Joel Fletcher. You can show your support tonight by purchasing a Cox Plate Carnival Charity Pin for just $10, with all proceeds going to our official charity partner, Myeloma Australia. We are back racing here next Friday night, and then it’s on to the Ladbrokes Cox Plate Carnival, for what will be a historic occasion. Thank you for joining us, and I hope you enjoy your night on course. Moonee Valley Racing Club respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of this land, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, and pay our respects to its Elders past, present and emerging.
