WELCOME TO LADBROKES GOLD CUP NIGHT, MARKING THE LAUNCH OF THE 2024 LADBROKES COX PLATE CARNIVAL. Tonight, we have a top lineup of stayers competing in the $750,000 Group 2 Ladbrokes Gold Cup, the Club’s oldest race, now in its 142nd running. Last year, Cleveland claimed victory under the guidance of James McDonald, with the champion jockey securing back-to-back wins in the race. We are proud to have James McDonald as an ambassador for the 2024 Ladbrokes Cox Plate Carnival, alongside Olympic gold medallists Shayna Jack and Brianna Throssell, and Geelong Cats’ AFL Rising Star Ollie Dempsey. Tonight’s meeting also includes the Sweeney Estate Agents Country Cup Final and Heat 3 of the Ladbrokes 55-Second Challenge. After the races, Australian DJ CYRIL, who has enjoyed international success in 2024, will perform on the Ladbrokes Lawn Party stage, with the concert open to all attendees.
