PAKM 08/02/2024 Choquant (NZ) When questioned rider explained after settling in a forward position with cover his mount raced a little keenly through the middle stages and passing the 800m when the horse he was trailing appeared to be under pressure he elected to shift to a three wide position to allow his mount to stride into the race from the 400m his mount failed to respond to his riding as expected and when giving ground he felt something was amiss with the gelding therefore he elected to ease Choquant down. Post race Vet exam failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. PAKM
