WELCOME TO CIRKA RACE NIGHT AS WE CONTINUE THE CELEBRATIONS THIS DECEMBER AT THE VALLEY. It’s our final Ladbrokes Friday Night Lights for 2023, with The Valley hosting three Saturday meetings before the night racing series returns on February 2. What a fantastic series under lights we’ve enjoyed so far, starting in spectacular fashion in front of a big crowd on AFL Grand Final Eve, where we witnessed a pair of star mares in action with Imperatriz and Amelia’s Jewel. The opening night also produced the fastest time to date this season in the Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge, with Shirshov’s time of 54.64 remaining the benchmark as we head into Heat 9 tonight. HeartKids are our Cheering For Charity Partner this evening. If the horse chosen to wear the Cheering For Charity saddlecloth wins, our Principal Partner Ladbrokes will kindly donate $2000 to HeartKids. Congratulations to connections of Romantic Warrior and jockey James McDonald on the gelding’s courageous victory in Sunday’s Hong Kong Cup. It was tremendous to see the 2023 Ladbrokes Cox Plate champion add another Group 1 to his incredible record and hopefully we’ll see him back at The Valley in 2024 to defend his crown. We are back racing next Saturday, 23 December, and I look forward to seeing you then for an afternoon of family-fun Christmas celebrations.
