We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our members for your continued support. During the break, our Track & Grounds team have been hard at work completing the annual track renovation, ensuring it is in top condition for the new season. Saturdays at The Valley are perfect for family outings, with lots of entertainment for the kids. Visit Tulloch Diner to meet Crossword the Shetland pony, and enjoy a magician, face painting, colouring activities, and balloon artists. We have nine races on the card for Dominant Saturday at The Valley, including the Ranvet Travis Harrison Cup. The race is named in honour of Travis Harrison, a promising young apprentice jockey whose life was tragically cut short at the age of 18 due to a car accident. As we honour our jockeys, I’d like to commend Damian Lane for winning the 2023/24 Victoria Jockey Premiership and Celine Gaudray for taking out the Apprentice title. Both had an exceptional season in the saddle. Nominations for the 2024 Ladbrokes Cox Plate closed this week, and we are excited about the calibre of the entries, which include top international contenders for Australia's Best Race. It’s also less than a month until Group 1 racing returns to The Valley. The Charter Keck Cramer Moir Stakes will be run on Saturday, 7 September, and it’s encouraging to hear a number of top sprinters are set to target the 1000m race. I look forward to seeing you at The Valley for our next meeting on Saturday, 24 August. CHAIR ADAM LENNEN CHAIR’S WELCOME WELCOME BACK TO THE VALLEY FOR AN EXCITING 2024/25 RACING SEASON. Moonee Valley Racing Club respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of this land, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, and pay our respects to its Elders past, present and emerging.
