The mare then took no competitive part in the event. Cotrainer was notified the mare was suspended from racing and would be required to compete in a jump out to the satisfaction of Stewards before being permitted to race again. Rider reported he was instructed to lead, however after beginning only fairly, he was obliged to work harder than planned to take up the lead. Approaching the home turn near the 300m was disappointed for clear running. Near the 100m was again disappointed for clear running and as a result was unable to be ridden out over the final 75m. M V 23/02/2024 Free Market Was bumped on jumping by another runner. WAGG 25/02/2024 King Halston (NZ) Performed below market expectations. Rider could offer no explanation. Post-Race Vet no abs. ALB 18/02/2024 Field Of Praise Rider could offer no explanation for the mare’s performance. A post-race vet exam revealed no significant findings. WANG 25/01/2024 Namaska Began awkwardly, getting its head up. Performed below market expectations. Rider reported when placed under pressure the mare shortened in its action and felt uncomfortable. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities, however noted it had cast its near-hind plate.
