The Moonee Valley Racing Club recognises former Chairman of the Moonee Valley Racing Club, Don Abell, with the running of the Entry Education Abell Stakes. Don was appointed to the Committee in March 2000. He served as Honorary Treasurer and Vice Chairman before being appointed the 10th Chairman of the Moonee Valley Racing Club in 2002, where he served until his retirement in November 2007. DON ABELL
