HELLO AND WELCOME TO LADBROKES FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, AS THE AUTUMN RACING CARNIVAL HEATS UP. Tonight’s meeting features the Listed Entry Education Abell Stakes over 1200m. This race recognises Don Abell, who became the 10th Chairman of the Moonee Valley Racing Club in 2002 and served until his retirement in November 2007. It shapes as a terrific race with black type on the line. The Entry Education Abell Stakes is also our Cheering For Charity race, with Living Legends as tonight’s charity partner. The Club is proud of its association with Living Legends, which was established to strengthen the ties between the community and our esteemed racehorse champions. Tonight’s meeting is the start of a big few days for the racing industry in Victoria, with the 2024 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale taking place at Oaklands Junction on March 3-5, and I’d like to extend a warm welcome to all industry participants on course this evening.
