Jim Moloney Hall of fame trainer Jim Moloney was the patriarch of one of the biggest and most successful families in Australian racing. Calling Caulfield home since the mid-1990’s after moving from Epsom Training Centre, Jim prepared arguably Australia’s greatest ever sprinter, Vain. He also saddled Affinity to Caulfield Cup glory in 1984 among a string of Group 1 triumphs across his career. Today, the Moloney name remains synonymous with Victorian racing with Jim’s sons Gerard and John continuing to train and grandson Patrick a Group 1 winning jockey.
