Tactics Qrd rdr reported she had been instructed to settle filly where comfortable as it has a tendency to over race and can be difficult. She added after being slow to begin her mount settled further back than she would have preferred. Further when questioned as to whether there was an opportunity to trail Tales of Time through the middle stages. stated after initially being behind that runner in early stages, she allowed her mount to stride to the inside of Tales of Time. See STW report. SANH 09/09/2026 Simply Steffi Began awkwardly. Attempted a narrow run to the inside near 150m, was restrained when disappointed for this run. Was then held up until shifting out passing 100m. Tactics QRD apprentice rdr explained that she was instructed to settle back in field, however, attempt to manoeuvre away from the rail, which was perceived as better ground. She stated after beginning awkwardly she found herself further back, attempt to get to the outside as per the instructions she elected to shift in towards the rail. Please see STW report. FLEM 12/09/2026 Pounding When quest rdr stated mount settled worse than midfield & travelled comfortably in early stages. Rdr stated near 1400m mount was carried wider resulting in it racing 3 wide, without cover. Rdr stated near 800m mount obliged to shift out to avoid heels of weakening runner, resulting in its racing four wide, without cover. Rdr stated mount under pressure shortly after & only ground way to line after a tough run. Tnr rep advised a decision on immediate racing future will be made in coming days. P/R vet no ab’s. He said that he suggested to connections that consideration be given to applying blinkers at its next start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. SANH 02/09/2026 Cignetti (NZ) Held up for a short distance approaching 200m before shifting out and obtaining clear running. Rdr reported that he had expected to lead, however when Cignetti did not muster natural speed to hold that position, he did not want to make use of the gelding in early stages as it can overrace and for this reason he rode his mount with cover. Held up for clear running over final 100m. Rider explained filly raced ungenerously & did not travel well at various stages of race. Added filly resented racing tight inside horses & then was left flat footed from 400m. Further added over latter stages filly was held up behind a tiring runner.
