Near the 1000m shifted in slightly and inconvenienced WHITE HADE. RR that in his opinion the horse was left flatfooted and would benefit over more ground. Race 7 Charter Keck Cramer Moir Stakes 1000m 3 The Bostonian (NZ) 08-JUN-19 E FM Slow to begin after slipping behind on jumping. Held up for clear running near the 200m when disappointed for a run between MAN BOOKER and DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR where there was insufficient room. 5 Nature Strip 07-SEP-19 RAND Began awkwardly. Overraced in early stages & refused to settle. Near 600m became awkward on heels & then was shifted out whereby the gelding raced three wide & without cover for the remainder of the event & continued to overrace making the home turn. 8 Bons Away 24-AUG-19 M V Slow to begin. Held up for a short distance approaching and passing the 200m 9 Eduardo 13-APR-19 CAUL Vets- lame NF. 10 Assertive Approach 10-AUG-19 FLEM R - instructed to hold gelding together for as long as possible as had indicated in past runs that it is best when ridden in this manner. He added for this reason elected to wait as long as possible until near 150m before riding at his most vigorous. Passing 100m shifted out slightly. 11 Sunlight 07-SEP-19 RAND Rdr std intentions were to be forward, but when the inside runner was overracing rdr elected to restrain mnt to a midfield position with cover. Further added mnt made home turn awkwardly & then in straight took some time balancing up but near the 300m felt its run had ended & in his opinion would derive a fitness benefit from this run. A post-race vet exam rev the mare to be 1/5 lame in the off foreleg. Tnr std given the position the mare settled was still satisfied with performance. Tnr advised a vet clearance would be required. Vet clearance since received. 12 Booker 07-SEP-19 M V Eased approaching the winning post when in restricted room. 18-MAY-19 MORP Began awkwardly, shifted out and contacted SPRIGHT. 14 Meryl 07-SEP-19 M V COT - to be ridden more forward. Settled behind the leader. 24-AUG-19 RAND Raced keenly in the middle stages. 15 Miss Leonidas 07-SEP-19 M V Fractious in barrier. Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Post-race Vet - No abs. 3 Mandela Effect 27-APR-19 CAUL Restrained when awkwardly placed on heels near 300m. Rider - happy where he settled however from 600m mount was left flat footed and was hard ridden. He added mount may be better suited over races of more distance. Post race vet exam revealed no abs. Tactics queried. Apprentice reported she was instructed to give her mount a dig from the start and avoid racing wide. Stewards advised apprentice that when she was able to take up a position one off the fence she should have made a greater effort to restrain her mount at that point. 13-APR-19 MORP Momentarily steadied approaching the 1100m when taken in.
