7 Michael Browell Chief Executive Moonee Valley Racing Club has been monitoring the advice of government health authorities regarding the ongoing risks from the COVID-19 disease outbreak. In light of the social distancing requirements of the Australian and Victoria governments currently in place, the Committee has decided in the interests of health and safety to hold this year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) virtually. Unfortunately, members will not be able to physically attend the meeting. The AGM of Members of the Moonee Valley Racing Club Inc. will take place on Tuesday, 17 November 2020 at 6.00pm (AEST) as a virtual meeting online and you will be required to pre-register. Committee members will attend the meeting from Moonee Valley Racing Club Offices on Level 4, at the Committee Room. The items of business AGM will include: 1. Confirmation of the minutes of the last AGM, held 19 November 2019; 2. Consideration of the Financial Report and the Auditor’s Report of the Club for the financial year ended 31 July 2020; 3. Election of auditors; 4. Election of committee members (if required)*; 5. Any general business; and 6. Any special business of which notice has been given in accordance with the Club rules. Per Club Rule 8.8, three Committee Members are required to retire at each election and are eligible to seek re-election. Any Member holding voting rights is also eligible to stand for election. Nominations for Committee close at 5.00pm on Friday 2 October 2020. Nomination forms may be obtained from the Chief Executive.
