77 STOCKS STAKES First run in 1973 the Stocks Stakes recognises the contribution of the late W.H. Stocks who served on the Moonee Valley Racing Club Committee from 1953 to 1968. The Weight for Age race for mares aged four years old and over, has been won in recent years by a number of quality mares such as Atlantic Jewel, King’s Rose, Don’t Doubt Mamma and I Am A Star.
