Laurie played a major role in the racing fraternity in the Western District for many years, including serving the industry for 47 years in his role as Judge. Laurie served on the committee at the Terang and District Club for many years and was awarded a Life Membership in recognition of outstanding service to the club and the racing industry. In addition to his outstanding service to the racing industry, Laurie was a key figure in the serving the local community through his roles on various councils, boards and committees for most of his adult life. Laurie would be thrilled to see the return of jumps racing to Terang and the club is honoured to be able to see his name associated with such an event.
