RAND 08/06/2024 That’s Molly Rider reported that her mount failed to travel comfortably throughout the event and that she was of the opinion the heavy weight impost of today’s event, combined with the heavy track conditions, were detrimental to her mount’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer agreed with the sentiments of his rider, highlighting that whilst the mare has two previous victories on heavy tracks, on both occasions the mare carried the minimum handicap and that she has since struggled to carry large weight imposts on heavy rated tracks. TAR 09/06/2024 Blue Cup (FR) Raced keenly in the early stages. Passing the 800m was bumped. Eased down over the final 200m. Rider explained his mount was travelling comfortably in the early stages and whilst he had a favourable trail , he applied some pressure to shift in advance of his mount near the 1400, as Blue Cup (FR) was travelling comfortably, he elected to allow a runner to shift in advance of him as opposed to having to make some use of his mount to hold that position.
