On Track Magazine Spring 2021

5 CHAIRMAN’S REPORT DON CASBOULT Don Casboult Chairman Moonee Valley Racing Club It is a great pleasure to bring you the Club’s Spring Edition of On Track magazine. For this season’s issue, the team has created a range of content that includes racing stories past and present, industry interviews, lifestyle features, and much more. As we are again unable to be trackside for the Ladbrokes Cox Plate Carnival, there are lots of exciting online events coming up over the next ten days to keep you entertained and up-to-date with all the latest news and insights. We have the special Ladbrokes Cox Plate Carnival trivia night to test your racing knowledge and a chance to win one of our popular Dean and McPherson Home Dining Boxes. You can also catch the Facebook live stream of our Ladbrokes Cox Plate Carnival Preview Show as Andrew Bensley and Michael Browell provide their expert views and talk with industry guests just 48 hours prior to all the action starting. The 101st running of the W. S. Cox Plate is shaping up to be a mouth-watering affair as the finest weight-for-age horses in Australia and New Zealand take to the stage alongside a couple of quality internationals – each one determined to put their name on the honour roll of Australia’s Best Race. The Ladbrokes Cox Plate field has opened right up withProbabeel rolling hot favourite Zaaki in theMight and Power Stakes at Caulfield. While there is no doubting Zaaki is still a leading contender, the likes of Probabeel and Caulfield Guineas winner Anamoe have both put their hand up as worthy chances to claim the Race Where Legends Are Made. As ever, wewill beworking closely with our broadcast partners Channel 7 and Racing.com to bring our Carnival to life through your TV sets and into your living rooms. In the meantime, enjoy all that the Club has created in the lead-up to an unmissable 24 hours of sport – kicking off on Friday 22 October with the running of the Ladbrokes Manikato Stakes. Stay safe, have a wonderful Carnival, and I look forward to welcoming you back to The Valley in November.
