Ladbrokes Park

68 Samson won the Sandown Park Stakes (1600m) at the inaugural meeting at Sandown on 19th June 1965. He carried 62.5kg in that event. He then went on to win another ve races at Sandown before his retirement in 1967. Leigh Kirby, former S enior Constable of the Mounted Police Branch rode Samson as a Police horse after his retirement from racing. Samson passed away 16 years after the win and is buried not far from the finishing post at Sandown.
