He added his mnt then raced keenly throughout the early stages and for this reason he purposely shifted it away from runners from the 1100m in an attempt to have it travel more comfortably and in an endeavour to prevent the saddle shifting further forward, and as a result, it covered extra ground throughout the event and this resulted in it weakening in the straight. He said approaching the first turn near the 1200m he identified a position behind another rnr, however he was unable to obtain this position and as a consequence raced wide and without cover, and in his opinion, due to the wide run his mnt was left without a finishing effort. A post-race vet exam revealed no abnormalities. Co-tnr subsequently reported satisfaction with the post-race condition of the gelding.
