Std after forced extremely wide in early stages he obtained some cover round h/turn, but when placed under pressure soon after straightening, mnt gave no response & when it started to lose ground he did not test it when concerned there may be something amiss. Tnr agreed with rdr & advised although concerned with wide barrier, he anticipated a good performance. A post-race vet exam rev gelding to be lame (2/5) in n/f leg. Tnr was told a vet clearance is required prior to having to barrier trial. Vet clearance received & passed trial Scone 12/6/24. RAND 25/05/2024 Bourbon Flyer Jockey reported that his mount travelled comfortably throughout the early and middle stages, however, when placed under pressure on straightening, failed to quicken, before weakening significantly over the final 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame 1/5 in the off-hind leg. Trainer was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to barrier trialling or racing again. V/C received. NCLE 03/08/2024 Elegant Empress Shortly after the start bumped. Rdr stated the mare performs best when able to be ridden in a leading position. He said that with a number of runners to his inside showing good early speed, he elected to obtain cover, which resulted in the mare settling further back than he had hoped. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities other than having lost its near-fore plate during running.
