Std after beginning satisfactorily he rode mnt neutral in initial stages, & when he formed view it was likely to be caught wide & without cover, he elected to ease passing the 1300m & try to obtain position closer to rail. Added in retrospect he should have allowed mnt to run along to comply with instructions. Added mnt did not respond to his riding in straight and continued to hang out. Tnr advised gelding had pleased him since last start but added may not have backed up from racing last week. A post-race vet exam revealed no abs. Tnr advised a vet clearance must be provided prior to having to trial.
