5 To place a bet on course, tell the operator the following about the bet(s) you want to make: 1. Meeting location and race number 2. Bet type 3. Runner number(s) 4. Amount you wish to spend You will receive a ticket with the details of your bet. This is your proof of purchase and is needed to pick up your winnings. Treat it like cash. BET TYPES Win Select the runner that you think will win the race. Place Select the runner(s) to finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd. The Place Dividend is paid if the selection finishes in any of these places. 3rd Place dividend is only paid for 8 or more runners. Each Way Also known as Win/Place. If your selection wins you are paid both the Win and the Place dividend and if it comes 2nd or 3rd you are paid the place dividend. Quinella Select the first two placegetters past the post in any order. Exacta Select the first two placegetters past the post in the correct order. Trifecta For a basic Trifecta, select 1st, 2nd and 3rd placegetters in correct finishing order. Box Trifecta Box your selections for 1st, 2nd and 3rd to finish in any order. First4 Select the first four placegetters in their correct order. Mystery Trifecta This is a Box Trifecta with the runners randomly selected by the computer. Quadrella Select the winners of four nominated races at the same meeting Daily Double Select the winners of two nominated races at the same meeting. Extra Double Select the winners of two nominated races at the same meeting. Treble Select the winners of three nominated races at the same meeting. LOST AND DISCARDED BETTING TICKETS Backers are warned against discarding betting tickets until it is certain that they are of no value.
