Caulfield

2 CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE Welcome to spring! Whilst the calendar may still say August for a few more days yet, today marks the official first day of spring for Victorian racing and the first Group 1 of the season. You will have seen our announcement last week outlining the Club’s plans for our Spring Racing Carnival, led by the campaign theme Let’s Bring It Home. This sentiment is of course a nod to our current lockdown situation, but more importantly it aims to highlight our dedication to bringing you, our members, the very best racing experiences in the most innovative ways possible, while showcasing the local talent who will no doubt be on display across our spring features. The feature today is really one for the books, with P.B. Lawrence winner Savatiano returning to clash with the likes of Mystic Journey, Streets Of Avalon, Regal Power, Arcadia Queen & Cascadian. New additions since the last bout include Behemoth and Group 1 winners Begood Toya Mother, Princess Jenni and Mr Quickie. It’s also a mammoth 10 race card with an additional race over 1000m added after the late abandonment at Moonee Valley last week, which will be a key decider in the spring campaigns for the participants. We are thrilled to welcome new partner Magic Millions on board, who are sponsoring the feature, the Magic Millions Memsie Stakes today, as well as the Magic Millions Debutant Stakes on Neds Caulfield Guineas Day. Magic Millions alumni have a great track record of winners at Caulfield including Blue Diamond winner Tagaloa (who races in the HDF McNeil Stakes today) and the trifecta in last year’s Debutant Stakes with Tanker, Euphoric Summer, and Queen of Rocks.
