Calling Caulfield home since the mid-1990’s after moving from Epsom Training Centre, Jim prepared arguably Australia’s greatest ever sprinter, Vain, and also saddled Affinity to Caulfield Cup glory in 1984 among a string of Group 1 triumphs throughout his career. Today the Moloney name remains synonymous with both Caulfield and Victorian racing, with Jim’s sons Gerard and John continuing to train at Caulfield and grandson Patrick a successful senior jockey.
