Made contact on a number of occasions then continuing to race keenly and striking heels, blundering badly and becoming unbalanced. Stewards determined that the pace of the event slackening at that point was the principal reason for striking heels. Leaving 700m made contact on number of occasions as endeavoured to secure a position to the outside. Was steadied near 600m when unable to improve to outside.
