Rdr reported he was instructed to lead, and although his mnt began well, another runner immediately held a margin over him in the early stages and, for this reason, he elected to take up a position behind that runner. He added his mnt, which was racing with the blinkers reapplied, raced too keenly through the middle stages and consequently was unable to finish the race off in the home straight. When questioned, rdr stated the gelding was not entirely comfortable in the ground and required pressure from the 1000m to regain contact. He added the gelding did not feel comfortable in its action until balancing up passing the 600m, before running home satisfactorily. Co-tnr confirmed the comments and advised the gelding, first up, would continue its preparation and be stepped up in distance. Post-race vet exam revealed no abnormalities. Rdr reported that they had expected to lead, however after the filly was slow to begin, it raced with cover where it travelled well. He added that Grinzinger Heart came under pressure from 500m and weakened in the straight. Post-race vet exam revealed filly to be lame in the off hind leg. SANH 05/09/2026 Rebel Tuesday Began only fairly and was hampered after the start.CAUL 15/08/2026 Leopard Shark Rider reported that the filly settled closer than he would have preferred as it failed to finish the race off as expected and in his opinion would be better suited ridden further back. A post-race vet exam did not identify any significant abnormal findings CAUH 08/08/2026 Aethera Rider reported the filly in his opinion did not appreciate today’s soft track conditions.
