2 Useful Information Members Tipping Competition Take part in the tipping competition at each of the Club’s 25 race meetings. The tipping competition is only open to Members. A minimum of $250 food & beverage credit will be won each meeting with a 20% bonus to any winner (s) who are on-course and have swiped their members’ badge at a Thoroughbred Park terminal on the day. Members select a runner in each race, with a 3-2-1 points system to determine the winner (s) each meeting. Any Member who can correctly select the last 6 winners on the program will recieve a free $1,000 bet on the following TAB Federal. Full terms and conditions are available on the website. Children under the age of 18 Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times within Thoroughbred Park. Unaccompanied children under the age of 18 years will not be admitted entry. 3 Emergency Procedures at Thoroughbred Park You should take your immediate effects and proceed quickly (do not run). In the event of an emergency, please remember: 1. Listen carefully to the public address system, 2. Follow the directions of the Wardens and staff, 3. Move quickly to the designated Safe Assembly Areas. The safety of all who attend Race meetings and functions at Thoroughbred Park is of paramount importance. Canberra Racing Club staff are trained to effectively manage any emergency should one arise. Should an emergency situation occur, the course broadcaster will sound the alert over the public address system and issue instructions to all patrons. On hearing the instructions; patrons are requested to remain calm and prepare to follow further instructions from the Emergency Wardens. Emergency Wardens will be easily identifiable as they will be wearing coloured helmets. Mobility impaired patrons, including hearing and sight impaired, should make contact with an Emergency Warden as they may need a “buddy” to assist them. On hearing the evacuation instruction, the Wardens will usher you to the safe assembly areas, so it is essential that you follow their instructions. Unless you are instructed otherwise, the safe assembly areas are as shown below. Safe Assembly Areas A The grassed area inside the main entrance behind the public toilets. B In front of the storage sheds C The course proper (grass track) in front of the saddling enclosure. Accessed through the saddling enclosure. D For horse stall patrons, the area formerly known as the jockeys car park, which is at the back of the stalls but down next to (but not on) the course proper.

She pressured her mount out of the barriers as she was mindful that her mount had been missing the start and after beginning well today, she allowed her mount to continue forward and assume the leading position. After obtaining the lead her mount began to race strong,she was mindful that her mount does have a tenancy to over-race and was reluctant in attempting to restrain as she felt her mount would then proceed to over-race. Tnr agreed with the instructions given. NARR 14/07/2024 Race 2 GIFT OF LIFE PLATE 1750M Burrowa On return to scale rider reported that his mount had not handled today’s gluey soft track conditions. W FM 16/04/2025 Flashy Icon Was held up rounding the home turn and shortly after straightening had to be eased from the heels of rnr which shifted out. MRYA19/04/2025 Koning Rdr reported he was instructed to lead and to ensure a genuine tempo, however the gelding came under heavy pressure prior to the home straight and then failed to finish off. Rdr stated that after being taken in by runner near 900m he elected to shift to outside of rnr but when that rnr then shifted back out he found himself trapped three-wide. Stewards advised that he should of maintained position behind that runner when there was opportunity to do so. QBYN 11/05/2025 Race 4 MEGAN VAN ARKEL HANDICAP 1206M Kotaishi Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. HAWK 03/05/2025 Rotho Bro Passing the 1000m was taken in and had to be restrained from the heels of rnr which shifted in when not clear. Over-raced in the middle stages of the race and passing the 500m pulled its way to the inside of rnr and had to be restrained. GOUL 08/05/2025 Astrogazer Hung in in the straight. Rider was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out fully to the end of the race. CANB 11/10/2024 Hell Of A Show Passing the 100m was disappointed for a run between runners and then became badly held up on heels for the

QBYN 11/05/2025 Christmas Star When questioned, rider stated that it had not been his instructions to lead, however when trapped wide early from his awkward draw, he was obliged to make use of his mount to cross to the lead. He added that his mount was then further disadvantaged when challenged in the lead during the middle stages and consequently weakened inside the final 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have a speedy cut to its near-hind fetlock. SAPH 04/05/2025 Noctua Shifted out on jumping and made contact with rnr. ALB16/05/2025 Tantalum Rider was permitted to ride his mount 1kg overweight in accordance with the policy.QBYN 24/01/2025 Spirited King A post-race vet exam of the gelding which was beaten 30L did not reveal any abs. Trn advised that the gelding would now be transferred from her stable. Trn was told that the gelding which had performed uncompetitively would be required to perform satisfactorally in a trial before it would be permitted to race again. Since trialed satisfactorily at Canberra 09/05/2025. CANB 18/04/2025 Race 5 WESTS LIONS HANDICAP 1280M Departing Bullet When questioned regarding the tactics in the middle stages, when leading one off the fence and forward of Frosted Romance, R Ex instucted to settle in a fwd pos position and in the early stages intended to obtain the lead. She added was unable to show sufficient speed to cross, which she felt was racing keenly to her inside. Reluctant to restrain the gelding as it has in the past had respiratory concerns and as the tempo had eased in the middle stages she maintained her position where the gelding felt comfortable. hindsight, she may have been better placed attempting to restrain her mount. MRYA19/04/2025 Ideelic Shifted out at the start MRYA02/03/2025 Irish Jig Rdr reported the gelding travelled fairly outside the leader throughout the early and middle stages, however when pressured to improve approaching the home turn, his mnt was disappointing in the manner it responded and failed to let down. He added that, in his opinion, the gelding would benefit with the addition of winkers so that it may perform more genuinely in the straight. A post-race vet exam did not reveal any abs. Trainer reported that, in his opinion, the gelding failed to run out the 1500m journey on the heavy track conditions. NCLE 03/05/2025 Marais Shifted out on jumping and made contact with another rnr. Near the 50m shifted out and made contact with another rnr. WYNG 17/04/2025 Shoreman When quest re disap perf, rider expl that his mount is better suited when able to lead. He added that today when challenged by Mere Mortal his mount over-raced with its head up and was left without a finishing effort. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnorm. Trainer concurred with the views of his rider and said that he would consider dropping the gelding back in distance with the aim of affording the gelding a free-flowing race where it was able to lead. W FM 07/05/2025 Snuba When questioned concerning his riding from the 30m rider explained that his mount, which had initially ran home well but had subsequently peaked on its run at the 100m, felt strange in its action near the 30m and as he felt something was amiss with his mount, he commenced to ease it down from that point. He added after the winning post his mount hung out and after being pulled up, was then somewhat reluctant to return back to the mounting enclosure. A postrace vet exam of the mare did not reveal any abs. Whilst noting rdrs comments, regardless, the Stewards felt never affected finishing pos.
