He said that in his view, his mount is suspect at the 1400m journey and the fact that the horse tended to overrace after leaving the 600m left it without a finishing effort. Std mnt, which was second up from an extended break, then gave ground in the straight and raced flat. A post race vet exam revealed the gelding to be slow to recover. Co-trainer agreed with the views of the rdr and said it would be the stable’s intention to freshen the gelding up prior to its next race start.
