Between the 400m and the 200m was shifted out across heels of a number of rnrs to obtain clear running passing the 200m where it was then able to be placed under full pressure. When questioned, rdr std after obtaining lead in early stages as anticipated, he then was obliged to pressure mnt near the 800m to maintain its position. Added when joined in the lead by another rnr near the 600m, this resulted in him applying further pressure to mnt and consequently it was left without a finishing effort. A post-race vet exam revealed no abnormalities other than a mildly slow recovery rate. Co-tnr said the colt was not suited being pressured for the lead throughout event and it would take benefit from the run. W FM 06/03/2024 Vain Invader When questioned, rdr std he felt the solid pace set throughout the race did not suit his mnt as it never travelled on the bit, and it was then one-paced under pressure in the straight A post-race vet exam revealed the gelding to be lame (2/5) in the off-foreleg.
